18" x 18" Plaster of Paris 2022 The Death of Traje De Boda is an homage for the acceptance of a woman who has chosen not to get married anymore. This symbolizes the fact that society dictates how women should be when she comes to age. The patina on the sculpture shows the feeling of being forced into marriage especially in the early days. The bronze or copper metallic on the material symbolizes that there's an innate strength embedded inside every woman and that she could be more than just the norm.
